DrukNet's Network Information Center (NIC), www.nic.bt, was recently hacked. The website is an important server, displaying information about all .bt domains. Internal databases hold crucial information, including domain name ownership.
We are hoping that DrukNet's Domain Name Server (DNS) security was not breached. DNS is the service that translates domain names (such as www.health.gov.bt) to Internet numerical address (202.144.157.196). Hacking Bhutan's DNS servers could mean a very serious security problem.
