Fixed Line Features

Please read the following instructions carefully to make the best use of these features.

General Technical Requirements:
  • Your telephone instrument should be push-button type with * and # key in addition to the numeric keys.
  • Your telephone should be set to ‘tone’ mode if there exists a selection between tone and pulse in dialing mode.
  • These facilities cannot be availed for those instruments, which have only pulse dialing.
Using Abbreviated Dialing (Individual Line) (*51)
These feature permits you to have 20 abbreviated dialing codes. You can dial only the ‘two digit’ code rather than dialing all required digits.


Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *51*yy*xxxxxxxxx#
  • Where yy = two digit code (20 to 39) and xxxxxxxxx = Distant subscriber number.
  • Confirmation tone of beeps is heard (Registration is completed).
Abbreviated Dialing Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial ** key and two digit code (xx) corresponding to the distant number.
  • You can hear the ring going to the required number.
Cancellation Procedure

  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #51*xx# where xx = abbreviated dialing code to be cancelled.
  • Confirmation tone of beeps is heard (Cancellation is completed).

Three Way Conference Call (Individual Line)
This feature allows you to add a third party to the existing call. (Access code not required for registration at subscriber end).

Using Three Way Conference Call
  • You have availed Three Way Conference Call Facility. You are talking with ’X’.
  • You press flash or hook switch and dial Y’s number.
  • You are connected with ‘Y’, While ‘X’ is placed on hold.
  • You press flash or hook switch and dial 3, a three-way call among you, ‘X’ and ‘Y’ is established.
Call Forwarding/Call Transfer (Individual Line) (*57)
This feature allows your calls to be transferred to another registered number.


Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *57*xxxxxx# where xxxxxx = ‘Transferred to‘ subscriber number.
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Registration is completed).
Cancellation Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #57#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Cancellation is completed).
You can also cancel the transfer of call from the forwarded telephone instrument if it is push button type. The procedure is as follows:
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #57*xxxxxx# where xxxxxx = telephone number from which call was transferred.
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Cancellation is completed).
Call Holding (Individual Line)
This feature enables you to call a third party while holding the conversation with the original party. You can switch the conversation back to original party as required. However, simultaneous communication among three parties is not possible. (No access code registration is required at the subscriber end).


Using Call Holding
  • You have availed Call Holding facility. You are talking with ‘X’
  • You press flash or hook switch (‘X’ is placed on hold).
  • You receive dial tone. You can dial the number of ‘Y’ and talk with ‘Y”
  • You press flash or hook switch (hear dial tone).
  • Dial ‘2’ to switch back to ‘X’
Call Waiting (Individual Line) (*43)
This feature makes it possible to receive a call from third party during conversation.

Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *43#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Registration is completed).
Using Call Waiting

You have availed Call Waiting facility. While you are talking with ‘X’, If ‘Y’ calls your number, you will get ‘call waiting tone’ and ‘Y’ will get ring back tone.
If you want to receive Y’s call you flash Hook switch and dial 2. You can talk to ‘Y’ while ‘X’ is placed on hold. You can again switch back to ‘X’ by flashing Hook switch and dialing 2. In case you have finished your conservation with ‘Y’, you can flash Hook switch and dial 1, so that Y’s call is released and you can talk with ‘X’.


Cancellation Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #43#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Cancellation is completed).
Don’t Disturb (Individual Line) (*26)
This feature restricts call to the subscriber and automatically connects to the announcement.

Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *26#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Registration is completed).
Cancellation Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #26#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Cancellation is completed).
Wake Up Call/Alarm Call
This feature enables to generate Wake Up Alarm Call for you. You will receive an automatic call ringing at the time you have specified. If you do not answer or if you are busy recall is made after 4 minutes.

Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *55*HHMM#
  • Where HH = time in hour (00-24) and MM = minutes (00-55), in step of 5 minutes
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Registration is completed).
Cancellation Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #55#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Cancellation is completed).
Absentee Service (*20)
This feature connects the caller to announcement as required by the subscriber.


Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *20#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Registration is completed).
Cancellation Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.

Call Barring

Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *34*PW*RC# Where PW = Password (4 characters) issued by Customer Section when applying for this service. RC = Restriction Class (for details refer to Restriction class types)
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Registration is completed).
Cancellation Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #34*PW#
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Cancellation is completed).
Hot Line with Supervision (Individual Line) (*53)
This feature provides automatic connection of an originating line to a pre assigned subscriber number with out dialing for five seconds. I.e if you want to call other than the pre assigned subscriber number, you should dial before four seconds.

Registration Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial *53*xxxxxx# Where xxxxxx can be any subscriber number, from local to International.
  • Confirmation tone is heard (Registration is completed).
Hot Line Call Connection
Connection Sequence
  • Subscriber goes off hook.
  • Wait for five seconds without dialing.
  • Call is placed to the subscriber of the number pre assigned.
Ordinary Call Connection
Connection Sequence
  • Subscriber goes off hook.
  • Subscriber should press the hookswitch within two seconds after going off-hook.
  • Call completes to desired destinations by dialing in the normal manner.
Cancellation Procedure
  • Off-hook handset and hear dial tone.
  • Dial #53#

Camp on Busy (*37)
This Feature allows a subscriber who reaches a busy number to have the call completed when the line becomes free without the caller generating a second call or waiting on the line.
After the service is activated, the called party line is continuously tested. When the called line becomes free, the calling party is rung, and after his answer called party is rung.

When you call B number and if you find B number busy, press flash or On hook your telephone set and Off hook it again and register as below:
